There is a stain on the lower left corner of the cover which carries thru the entire catalog. It does not effect any of the photographs.
This exhibition is not intended as an erudite, comprehensive scholarly collection. There are too many periods and too many art forms to cover. What we have endeavored is to collect a group of objects that tell a story of another era and another culture, and our goal is to reach a better understanding of the life of Chinese royalty. All of the artifacts in this exhibition are related directly to the Imperial throne or the royal class. As you will see, we have concentrated nearly all our efforts on collecting pieces from the Ming and Ching Dynasties, where some of the most exquisite objects of art in the world have been created.
