The Franklin Library was a division of The Franklin Mint that produced fine collector edition books over three decades ending in 2000. All Franklin Library editions are now considered out-of-print and many are scarce and highly collectible. This edition is from the era of rarer editions, before the were somewhat mass produced in the late 1980's and 1990's. This is from the era where leather was the covering of choice. This book is in excellent condition. I am offering it at a fraction of what other sellers online and in stores are selling it for. There is slight cover wear only noticeable by the slight absence of gilding in a few spots. All around, very nice, though.
Experience the quality of the leather binding with gilded, ornate designs. The pages are gilded on the top, bottom, and outside. This is a beautifully made book, blending craftsmanship and aesthetics, balancing form and function.
Enjoy Thomas Mann's masterpiece in this rare edition.
This would make a wonderful addition to any book collection or a solid edition for reading, one that will last for many, many years to come. It pains me to part with this beautiful book, but my wife and I are expecting our first child in several months, and I must thin out my collection.
